Executive overview

A career built where education, technology, and responsibility meet.

Epie El Sheriff is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Starlife Technologies, a software and digital-operations company whose work spans owned products, custom engineering, web systems, hosting, deployment, and long-term technical support.

His professional identity developed across several connected environments: formal teacher education, English-language instruction, digital-content production, WordPress management, practical web development, technology training, hosting administration, and direct client support. Each environment strengthened a different part of his leadership approach. Teaching developed patience and communication. Content operations developed consistency and audience awareness. Web development introduced systems thinking. Hosting and support created respect for reliability, security, recovery, and the consequences of production failure.

Rather than separating education from technology, Epie has treated both as disciplines of problem-solving. In the classroom, success depends on understanding people, presenting ideas clearly, and adapting to different levels of confidence. In software, success depends on understanding a workflow, translating it into a usable system, and supporting the people who depend on it. This connection became a defining principle in Starlife Technologies: technology should be understandable, practical, accountable, and close to the real needs of its users.

01
Early life

From Massaka to a wider world of education and technology.

Epie El Sheriff, whose full name is Epie El Sheriff Njomie, was born on 15 April 2002 in Massaka, Cameroon. His documented educational journey began in the same community, where he completed his Ordinary Level studies at Government Bilingual High School, Massaka, in 2018. This early stage established the academic foundation for a path that would later combine language, education, digital communication, and technology.

He continued to the Advanced Level at Government High School, Matoh, completing the qualification in 2020. Those formative years took place during a period in which digital tools were becoming increasingly central to communication, education, and business. His interest moved beyond simply using technology toward understanding how websites, online platforms, content systems, and digital infrastructure are built and maintained.

That interest did not replace his commitment to education. Instead, the two paths grew together. He became interested in how people learn, how ideas are communicated, and how digital tools can make knowledge and services easier to access. The combination would later influence both his classroom practice and the customer-centered product philosophy of Starlife Technologies.

Family, faith and heritage

Raised through education, care, Christian service, and Oroko identity.

Epie is the youngest of five children and was raised in a Christian, monogamous household. His parents' working lives placed education and care at the center of the family. His father, Epie Felix Elangwe, worked as a teacher, bringing the discipline of learning, communication, and guidance into the home. His mother, the late Etongwe Veronica Enene, worked as a nurse, a profession grounded in patience, service, and concern for the well-being of others.

His mother died on 14 June 2014, but her spiritual and personal influence remains central to his story. She was deeply committed to God and raised her children in a God-fearing home. The family worshipped and served in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where faith was expressed through participation, responsibility, and service to the church community.

The family also experienced the loss of one of Epie's sisters in 2020. The identities and personal lives of his living siblings remain private. These experiences of family connection, faith, loss, and perseverance contributed to the values Epie carries into education, leadership, client care, and long-term responsibility.

Epie identifies with the Oroko people and traces his family heritage to the Mbonge area of Meme Division in Cameroon's South-West Region, near Kumba. Academic linguistic research describes Mbonge as a dialect within Oroko, a Bantu language of Cameroon. He presents this heritage as part of his personal foundation while building professional relationships across Cameroon, Thailand, and the wider world.

02
Founding Starlife Technologies

Turning practical technical work into an accountable company.

Epie founded Starlife Technologies in 2021 after building experience across websites, content management, digital training, hosting, and technical support. The company was created around a straightforward promise expressed in its signature line, Bringing Expectations To Reality. For Epie, that promise is not merely about visual design. It means taking a client's intended outcome seriously, defining what can be delivered, selecting an appropriate technical path, and remaining accountable through deployment and operation.

Starlife began with practical digital services: website delivery, WordPress management, domains, hosting, business email, SSL, cPanel operations, maintenance, and client support. That foundation exposed Epie to the full life cycle of a system. A website is not complete when its design is approved; it must load reliably, protect access, send email correctly, preserve data, survive updates, and remain understandable to the people managing it.

Over time, the company expanded toward custom software and owned products. The shift reflected a larger ambition: to move beyond isolated projects and create platforms that can improve through continuous development. Starlife now presents itself as a product company, engineering studio, infrastructure partner, and technical support operation, with activity connected to Buea, Cameroon and Sisaket District, Thailand.

Flagship product

WhaChat represents the product-building chapter.

WhaChat grew from the need for a more complete relationship between a business and the people visiting its website. Under Epie's product direction, the platform evolved beyond a simple chat bubble into a multi-tenant customer-support system with live messaging, business workspaces, owner and agent roles, chat routing, visitor intelligence, status stories, tickets, notifications, analytics, email workflows, widget customization, installation controls, and plan foundations.

The platform also reflects Epie's preference for observing real use and improving iteratively. Features are shaped around the practical questions that businesses and support agents face: Who needs attention? Which agent should respond? What has the visitor viewed? Has a message been delivered or read? Can the business communicate an update before a conversation begins? Can the owner configure the system without editing code?

WhaChat is therefore both a commercial product and a record of Starlife's transition into long-term software ownership. It demonstrates the company's intention to build technology that can serve multiple businesses while preserving each client's identity, data boundaries, operations, and customer relationships.

Leadership philosophy

Clarity before complexity. Responsibility after launch.

Epie's approach to leadership is rooted in the disciplines shared by good teaching and good engineering.

Communicate clearly

Explain the problem, scope, tradeoffs, and next action in language the client or learner can actually use.

Earn trust through delivery

Confidence should come from verified work, transparent boundaries, and continued accountability rather than exaggerated promises.

Think beyond the screen

A system includes its users, data, infrastructure, permissions, deployment, recovery, and support, not only the interface.

Design for real people

Products should respect different devices, levels of technical confidence, cultures, languages, and daily working conditions.

Cameroon and Thailand

An international chapter grounded in education and technology.

Cameroon remains central to Epie's identity, education, early professional experience, and the foundation of Starlife Technologies. Buea is the company's primary operating base and the environment in which much of his training, development, hosting, and client-service experience was formed.

His current work as an English teacher in Thailand has added a new cultural and professional dimension. Working in a high-school environment in Sisaket District requires adaptability, careful communication, and respect for a different community and learning context. These experiences strengthen the international outlook with which he approaches software, education, customer support, and future partnerships.

The two locations are not presented as competing identities. Together, they express the direction of a founder building from African experience while learning, teaching, and creating connections in Southeast Asia.
